Understanding Public Opinion?
Picture

Q: What Does the Public Think About Your Mission?

A: What Would You Like to Know? (confidentially)

We do public research on behalf of community organizations. We uncover how the public (and "Experts") view the area the organization works in. It is also possible to find out what they think about us and other organizations like us. In today's world, all controversy is present in some way; knowing about controversy means we can act. Potential for a positive opinion is present too.

We can communicate better because we know how people view us and the cause we represent. Maybe people view us negatively or positively because of what they think, feel and hear about our cause, rather than what is true about us. If there is a negative perception, then we can find out what is negative and speak with that in mind. If opinion is positive, then we can use those positives to speak as well.

Reaching out to people is easier and more effective when we understand the context for our communications. Have we used words that we thought meant one thing to the listener and in fact meant something entirely different? We may assume that we know what people think, read hear and say; do we know?

Research into public and expert opinion is an important part of communications outreach. With today's world communicating as a small village, word travels fast. This is important for the sake of our community organizations and their work. Find out what they think and say.
