| KidVision has been a pioneer in saving children's eye sight. A significant percentage of children have "Lazy Eye" (Amblyopia). If not caught early, they will loose sight in one eye. Screening children for this problem has already saved eye sight for many.
The KidVision Web site needed to be simple and direct. It also needed to be emotional. The home page shows the eye of a young person. It clearly gives a basic undersanding of what they do and how to get more information through a direct download link on the home page. It is called the "KidVision Fact Sheet".
Complicated Web designs do not necessarily help; simple works. This Web site is very quick to update and still gives complete information to parents and educators worried about children's eye sight. This uncomplicated Web site receives over 5000 Web clicks a month!
The contrasting dark green and white colors are demonstrations of the importance of eye sight. The calendar inside shows when and where people can go to have their children screened. The donations area encourages people to help with this noteworthy cause.
The download area has a wealth of documents such as information and referral sheets, check lists and letters for parents in both Spanish and English. Direct links to any file in the download area (like on the home page) can be placed anywhere on the Web site or sent out to people in an email. This makes it easy for people to get involved.
Recently, the organization has been thinking of expanding into other geographical areas. They wondered about additional calendars; we were happy to inform them that they have 12 independent calendars available for their use (comes standard).
